What are you doing next weekend? With just two full days to relax and enjoy downtime, weekends are precious. So, what better way to spend it than visiting the stunning Central Coast of NSW?

An easy drive from Sydney or Newcastle, there really is something for everyone from adventure sport and surfing to indigenous culture and bushwalks. The Central Coast is a mecca for foodies, and families and couples will enjoy the new Makers Trail self-drive tour plus the myriad of cafés and restaurants.

To make the most of your ultimate Central Coast weekend, spend a night or two at a boutique hotel, iconic resort, family motel, country cottage or beach campsite.

What’s Your Weekend Personality?

Active & Adventurous

You might need more than a weekend to explore the bushwalks, lookouts, adventure sports, reptile and animal attractions on the Central Coast. Bouddi National Park is an active weekend all on its own with walking and cycling trails, swimming, fishing and several beach campgrounds, including Putty Beach and Tallow Beach.

Sun, Sea & Surf

From the surf beaches of Avoca and Wamberal to uncrowded Pelican Beach and family-friendly Toowoon Bay, grab your towel and soak up the rays. Sun-smart soaking of course! With 15 patrolled beaches, splash around between the flags to your heart’s content or try your skills at stand-up paddle boarding or surfing. By car is the best way to explore Central Coast beaches. Joining the M1 from the south? Feel the sand between your toes at Umina Beach in just 45 minutes.

Culture Vulture

Feed your soul with culture on a visit to the Central Coast. Brisbane Water National Park is home to Aboriginal rock art and engravings, while the Bouddi Gallery has an extensive range of contemporary Aboriginal lifestyle art. Multiple museums, theatres and art galleries adorn the region with touring exhibitions and performers from all over the world.

Hunter & Gatherer

Foodies and bargain hunters will be spoilt for choice. Organic food and vintage clothing are popular at Long Jetty, while designer and home-grown brands line the streets of Terrigal. An absolute must for food lovers is the Central Coast Makers Trail. This self-drive tour will take you on a culinary journey across the Central Coast. Taste, sip and discover the makers and providores of the region. Book behind-the-scenes tours and hands-on experiences to truly immerse yourselves in the food culture of the Central Coast.
