Tell us about your background and what led you to becoming a producer on the Central Coast
I’m originally from Czech Republic and started the business in 2012 on the kitchen table. I have fond memories of eating gingerbread at Christmas while growing up, but I could not find the flavours in local gingerbread that I remembered as a little girl. I decided to make my own and as soon as I offered my product to customers, they were hooked, word spread, and I had a business on my hand
What do you enjoy most about connecting with visitors to your business?
We are very lucky to live in such a paradise! Central Coast brings opportunities to many businesses! We have variety of tourists, families, business owners, you never know who steps a foot to your door and they all have a story. We are just happy to share our passion with everyone and at the end of the day we want to put a smile on your face with our product.
What makes your products unique?
With European heritage, our Gingerbread is the real thing. We use only the finest ingredients, including 10 different organic spices to create an authentic flavour. At Adri’s Gingerbread we make each Gingerbread by hand using carefully selected ingredients, wherever possible from local suppliers. Over 98% of our ingredients are produced in Australia and many of our suppliers are small family owned Australian businesses.
What should people expect when they visit your venue?
Visitors will be able to see that we are using real ingredients and the love behind creating each gingerbread.
They will be able to see how long each gingerbread takes to make and they get opportunity to ice their own cookie to see what is involved in each creation.
Are you able to give us a preview of any innovative projects that you are working on?
You will be able to have a taste of some other products we make, some that you may have not been aware of. Try our delicious shortbread and also chocolate biscuits.
What do you think makes the Central Coast such a great place for people to establish a food or beverage business?
We live in such a beautiful paradise, people love our laid back lifestyle. They enjoy going to cafes and restaurants that we are lucky to have. The produce that you can find locally is amazing! It’s all here!
What do you think is the best kept secret on the Central Coast?
Patonga Beach and North Avoca Beach are two of my favourite spots, simply because they are not as touristy and just that little bit more peaceful.
When you’re not making awesome food / drink, what do you love doing in your spare time?
I love eating and dreaming. I am a big foodie who would spend 100% of my fortune on food and try lots and lots of it.
There is always a café or restaurant on my wish list that I want to try. So if I am not working, I am probably eating something delicious or dreaming my crazy dreams. I really need my time in a day to dream, it’s really important to me, I would almost say it’s a form of meditation that charges me.
